Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Photographic Color Technician to join our post-production team. This role focuses on color correction and quality control of scanned film images, ensuring each gallery meets our standards for consistency, accuracy, and aesthetic integrity.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for color, understands film characteristics, and thrives in a production-based workflow while maintaining careful attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform color correction on high volumes of scanned film images
  • Ensure consistency across full rolls and complete client galleries
  • Maintain accurate skin tones and natural color balance
  • Apply lab-standard color profiles and workflow practices
  • Conduct quality control checks prior to final delivery
  • Collaborate with scanning and development teams to resolve color issues
  • Help refine and maintain color workflow systems

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of color theory and digital color correction
  • Experience with Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop
  • Familiarity with film stocks (Portra, Fuji, etc.) preferred
  • High attention to detail and visual consistency
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in photography (especially film)
  • Experience working in a professional photo lab
  • Familiarity with calibrated monitors and color-managed workflows

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
