PHP Laravel Engineer – Source Code Academia (Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi)

Source Code Academia is seeking a PHP Laravel Engineer to join our on-site development team in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi. In this role, you will build and maintain advanced web applications using the Laravel framework and MySQL databases. Our ideal candidate has strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills and hands-on experience with Laravel, database design, and modern web APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Laravel applications: Build server-side components and features using PHP/Laravel, and integrate them with frontend interfaces.
• Database design and optimization: Design relational database schemas in MySQL, write and optimize complex SQL queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Manage database migrations: Create and run Laravel migration scripts to version-control database schema changes.
• Version control and collaboration: Use Git for source control – create branches, commit changes, and submit pull requests.
• Debugging and performance tuning: Identify and fix bugs through testing and debugging. Optimize application and database performance.
• Authentication and security: Implement and maintain secure user authentication and authorization (e.g. Laravel’s Auth scaffolding, middleware, gates, and policies).
• RESTful API integration: Design, build, or consume RESTful APIs for communication with external services or client applications.
• Team collaboration: Participate in code reviews and pair programming. Work closely with frontend developers, designers, and product managers.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of PHP development experience, including substantial work with Laravel.
• Laravel & PHP: Expert proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework (latest version).
• OOP fundamentals: Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Databases: Hands-on experience with MySQL (designing schemas, writing JOINs, indexes, and optimizing queries).
• Database Migrations: Proficient with Laravel database migrations and schema version control.
• ORM/Eloquent: Comfortable using Laravel’s Eloquent ORM for model-based database interaction.
• Version Control: Strong experience with Git (branching, merging, pull requests).
• Web APIs: Familiarity with RESTful API design and JSON.
• Debugging & Testing: Skilled at debugging PHP code and using debugging tools.
• Soft skills: Good communication and collaboration abilities.
