Backend + Frontend Engineer

About the Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress & WooCommerce, Frontend Developer and Content Marketing Expert to join our team and play a key role in developing, designing, and maintaining our WooCommerce-based E-Commerce store.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in both frontend and backend WordPress development, a deep understanding of WooCommerce, and a passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performing online stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain WordPress + WooCommerce store (themes, plugins, and core customization).
- Work on both frontend (UI/UX, responsiveness) and backend (custom functionality, logic, APIs).
- Implement custom themes or child themes from Figma or design files.
- Create and customize WooCommerce functionalities (e.g., product types, checkout flows, shipping methods, etc.).
- Develop and maintain custom plugins or extend existing ones.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and SEO.
- Manage database queries and troubleshoot site or plugin issues.
- Integrate third-party tools/APIs (payment gateways, CRM, ERP, etc.).
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers on new feature development and updates.
- Maintain backups, version control, and staging environments for testing.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP core, WordPress, Themes, and Plugin architecture.
- In-depth experience with WooCommerce (setup, customization, performance tuning).
- Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery.
- Familiarity with Gutenberg blocks and popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).
- Experience working with REST APIs, AJAX, and JSON.
- Git version control and staging/deployment practices.
- Understanding of security best practices in WordPress/WooCommerce.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot efficiently.
Good to Have:
- Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), CPT UI, and other popular WordPress plugins.
- Familiarity with server-side optimization and caching (Redis, Varnish, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of SEO, analytics, and user behavior tracking.
- Familiarity with headless WordPress setups (optional).
- Experience working in Agile teams or using tools like Trello, Asana, or Jira.
