The PGT Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality physical education classes to senior secondary students (Grades 11 and 12) as per the CBSE curriculum. The role includes promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and overall well-being through structured activities, sports training, and health education.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Delivery:

  • Plan, design, and implement physical education lessons in line with CBSE curriculum standards.
  • Ensure students are prepared for board practical exams, including physical fitness assessments and viva.
  • Maintain detailed lesson plans, assessments, and progress records.

2. Sports Training & Fitness:

  • Coach students in various indoor and outdoor sports like athletics, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, etc.
  • Organize regular practice sessions and monitor student progress.
  • Develop fitness routines and conduct fitness assessments.

3. Student Development & Engagement:

  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude through sports and physical activities.
  • Encourage participation in intra-school, inter-school, and national-level sports competitions.
  • Identify and nurture sports talent among students.

4. Health & Wellness Education:

  • Educate students about personal health, hygiene, diet, and lifestyle practices.
  • Promote awareness of mental health, stress management, and physical well-being.

5. Administrative & Operational Duties:

  • Maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper usage and storage.
  • Prepare reports, maintain student performance records, and assist in report card preparation.
  • Assist in organizing annual sports days, fitness weeks, and other events.

6. Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Comply with CBSE guidelines for physical education and practical examinations.

7. Collaboration & Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments for holistic student development.
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training programs as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree (M.P.Ed) in Physical Education from a recognized university.
  • B.Ed. (preferred as per CBSE norms).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school.
