Physical Therapy Tech

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapist Tech (PTT) accepts direction from the Physical or Occupational Therapist to carry out specified patient care activities that are within the scope of the individual’s knowledge and training. The PTT performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance functions that assist in departmental operations. This may include organization/inventorying of equipment, ordering supplies preparation of treatment areas, cleaning treatment rooms, tables, equipment and Hydrotherapy tanks after each use. The PTT’s responsibilities also include transportation of patients to and from the Physical Therapy Department, assists patients in and out of the hydrotherapy tanks, prepares supplies for wound dressings, restocks supplies, prepares hot/cold packs for use, organizes treatment carts, and monitors supplies utilized in the department and informs PTA when items are low in stock. The PTT will assist with billing of chargeable items, transfer of patients as appropriate, and generally assists the PT or PTA with other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years health care/fitness experience required.
  • Previous experience in Rehab services preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Certification preferred.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, therapist, and department heads required.
  • Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills required.
