<Duties>
- Perform thorough physical examinations, assess patient histories, and evaluate vital signs to determine health status.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, suturing, and wound care.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and interpret diagnostic codes such as ICD-10 and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Manage acute pain cases, ventilator support, airway management, and critical care interventions within hospital settings including ICU and Level I/II trauma centers.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists on complex cases involving infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, or neonatal ventilator management.
- Utilize EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient records, intake assessments, and data management.
- Participate in clinical research trials and data collection efforts to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in triage processes in emergency room or urgent care settings while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
<Requirements>
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification; experience across multiple specialties preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure highly desirable.
- Skills in botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, or esthetic laser treatments are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures and billing.
- Experience with hospital medicine including inpatient care, post-acute care settings like nursing homes or home health is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV infusion, and aseptic techniques confidently.
- Excellent patient assessment skills along with the ability to manage acute pain cases and airway emergencies effectively.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures such as cardiac catheterization or spinal tap is beneficial.
