Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine - Experienced PAs Needed in Tucson

Integrative Emergency Services (IES) is now hiring experienced Physician Assistants or Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP-C) Nocturnist in the Emergency Department at Tucson Medical Center.

Positions Available:

  • Full Time Adult ER
  • Part Time, PRN & Seasonal – Adult ER & Pediatric ER

Adult Emergency Department Information:

  • Volume: 80,000
  • Admission Rate: 32%
  • Patients/Hour: 1.7
  • Physician Coverage: 69 hrs daily
  • APP Coverage: 50 hrs daily
  • Acuity: high
  • ED Beds: 60
  • EMR: Epic
  • Scribes: No
  • Dictation: PowerScribe
  • Hospital Beds: 615
  • Physician Shifts: 8 hours & 9 hours
  • APP Shifts:
  • Fast track: 7a-3p, 9a-9p, 3p-11p
  • ED Extension: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 4p-12a

Pediatric Emergency Department

  • Separate dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
  • APP Shifts: 11a-11p daily & 6p-12p seasonal shift
  • APP Coverage: 12 hours daily; 18 hours daily during winter surge
  • Volume: 31,000
  • Admission Rate: 5%
  • Patients/Hour: 1.8-2 per clinician
  • Physician Shifts: 9 hours (7a - 4p; 3p - 12a; 10p - 7a)
  • Physician Coverage: 27 hours daily
  • ED Beds: 14
  • Documentation: Epic
  • 42-bed Level III NICU
  • 12-bed PICU
  • 33-bed Inpatient Pediatric Unit with around-the-clock in-house pediatric hospitalists
  • Specially trained child life specialists on staff
  • Wide range of pediatric subspecialist physicians on staff

Required Qualifications:

  • AZ PA or ENP license and certification
  • One or more years of post-grad hospital ER experience in an APC role
  • DEA certificate
  • BLS, ACLS & PALS

Compensation:

  • Adult ER: $110/hour ($99/hr base pay & $11/hr QSP) & $10/hr bonus if 8.9 RVUs/hr met – making the cap $120/hr
  • Peds ER: $100/hour ($90/hr base pay & $10/hr QSP) & $10/hr bonus if 8 RVUs/hr met or $20/hr bonus if 8.9 RVUs/hr met – making the cap $120/hr
  • $6/hr Night Shift Differential (12a-6p); paid for entire shift if dedicated nocturnist
  • Holiday Pay: Time and a half on designated holidays
