Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Trauma/General Surgery teams. This position will require flexibility on a day-to-day basis on filling in the needs of the Surgical and Trauma teams in the hospital and the clinic setting. There will be limited procedures and no OR time. In this role, you will:

Help manage all aspects of trauma and post-operative patient care from admission to discharge for all four of our trauma teams, as well as general inpatient care for teams that are busy.

Have a strong emphasis on post call duties – tertiary exams, discharges, coordinating care

Interface with all levels and disciplines of the healthcare team to increase the quality of patient care, patient education and streamline the discharge process.

Support our staff surgeons in the Surgery Clinic as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program

Current, or eligibility for, MN license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant

BLS/ACLS certification

ATLS certification or obtained within two years - we will provide (audit or complete course)
