This position will provide comprehensive healthcare to NMRC patients. Responsibilities will include assisting, diagnosing, prescribing, and referrals where appropriate.
How does it get done?
his position works in conjunction with medical staff and primary care team. Performs and documents comprehensive health histories and physical examination. Formulates diagnoses and identifies problems and health risk profiles on patients. Provides information and support to patients and families regarding disease process and treatment plan. Manages patients in accordance with established New Mexico Rehabilitation Center Nursing and Medical Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Qualification
Requires a license to practice medicine in New Mexico and Psychiatrist, OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Emergency Medicine Board Certification. Must possess an active controlled substance license and DEA registration in New Mexico.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated a safety sensitive. Must successfully complete post offer preemployment criminal records background check is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a rehabilitation hospital setting. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Long periods of walking, sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Exposure to potentially violent patients in a volatile situation. May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Some travel may be required.
