Southern Health Partners is seeking an experienced Physician (MD/DO), Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to serve as the contracted medical provider for the Cherokee County Jail.

Position Overview

As the facility provider, you will:

• Conduct patient evaluations and chronic care reviews
• Assess and manage acute and routine medical concerns
• Review and approve treatment plans as appropriate
• Collaborate with on-site nursing staff
• Provide clinical guidance and support
• Ensure healthcare services meet professional standards
• Assist in maintaining quality patient care within the facility

✅ Qualifications

Physicians

• Active North Carolina MD or DO license
• DEA registration (if applicable)

Nurse Practitioners

• Active North Carolina NP license
• National certification
• Prescriptive authority as required

Physician Assistants

• Active North Carolina PA license
• Current certification and prescribing authority as required

Additional qualifications:

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Previous correctional healthcare experience is welcomed but not required
