Physician -Pulmonary Critical Care

**Setting: Medical Care for Adults**

**Ventilation Management:** We use two types of ventilation:
1. **Invasive:** This includes inserting a tube into the throat (ETT), using a nasal tube (NT), or placing a tracheostomy.
2. **Non-Invasive:** This includes using machines like BiPAP and CPAP to help with breathing.

**Required Insertions:**
- Central Line: A tube placed into a large vein.
- Arterial Line: A tube placed into an artery to monitor blood pressure.

**Diagnostic/Therapeutic Procedures:**
- **Paracentesis:** Removing fluid from the abdomen.
- **Thoracentesis:** Removing fluid from around the lungs.

**Other Needed Procedures:**
- Inserting a chest tube: To help remove air or fluid from the chest.
- Bronchoscopy: Looking inside the lungs with a camera.
- Bronchoscopy with BAL: A special kind of bronchoscopy to collect samples from the lungs.
- Managing blood volume and blood pressure issues.
- Pulmonary Function Testing: Checking how well your lungs work.
- Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS): Using an ultrasound to look at the lungs.
- ION: A certain procedure related to lung care.

**Conditions we treat:**
- Asthma
- Bronchiolitis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Interstitial Lung Disease
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Pneumonia
- Sarcoidosis
- Pulmonary Vascular Disease
- Pulmonary Nodules

**Requirements for Candidates:**
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary or Critical Care. We can accept new graduates.
- Must have an Iowa medical license or active IMLC (with clearance).
- Must have a clean background.
- Must have completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care. Experience with EBUS and ION is preferred.
- Must have ACLS, ION training, and knowledge of critical care procedures.
- Must be available to work at least one full week each month, on an ongoing basis.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $300.00 - $400.00 per hour
