Physiotherapist work with patients who have a range of conditions, including neurological, neuro musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory, sometimes over a period of weeks;
Diagnose, assess and treat their physical problem/condition;
Develop and review treatment programs that encourage exercise and movement by the use of a range of techniques.
Reviewing recovery according to the patient’s individualized needs.
Conduct complex mobilization techniques.
Provides treatment through the use of Therapeutic exercises, manipulation, mobilization, hydrotherapy, electro- therapeutic and mechanical devices & other therapeutic agents.
Provides progress reports of patients every set of sessions completed and/or as referred.
Checks performance of daily start-up and shut down of automated physical therapy equipment.
Train of new Physiotherapy Staff in physical therapy procedures.
Educate family members on activities that can be carried out at home to aid patient’s recovery process.
Refer patients to doctors and other medical practitioners.
Implement quality control, quality assurance, and risk management as they relate to physical therapy functions.
Handle maintenance and safe storage of all physical therapy tools, supplies, materials and equipment.
Liaise with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about the background and progress of patients, as well as to refer patients who require other medical attention;
Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients;
