Job Title: Physiotherapist
Reports to: Physiotherapy Head
Job Purpose: The Physiotherapist is responsible for the effective delivery of physiotherapy services to ICON Medical Center Patients. The Physiotherapist will assess clients and plan and carry out individually designed treatment programs to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction of patients.
Responsibilities:
ü Collaborate with patient’s doctor for referrals, notes, and medical history.
ü Review and evaluate patient through tests, movements, and conversation.
ü Create and implement treatment care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
ü Establish patient goals and benchmarks.
ü Discuss patients’ goalposts with patients’ physicians, surgeons, and healthcare team.
ü Schedule exercises and therapies for the patient.
ü Observe and review patient progress.
ü Assist and demonstrate proper stretches, techniques, exercise moves, and equipment uses.
ü Educate patient family members, caretakers, or close friends on the patient’s treatment plan.
ü Recommend specialists to patients who need additional medical attention.
ü Document patient medical progress and treatment; record notes to update medical conditions.
ü Perform other duties, treatment plans as assigned by the Department Head / Line Manager.
Skills:
ü Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse patient groups with varying levels of comprehension and language capability.
ü Effective listening, observation and facilitation skills to effectively assess patients and provide appropriate treatment and consultation.
ü Strong mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to respond or assist in emergency situations.
ü Strong collaboration skills to manage service delivery in conjunction with health care professionals, clients, their family members/caregivers/substitute decision makers.
ü Ability to deal with demanding interpersonal situations and respond with good judgment and understanding
ü Ability to communicate information effectively through a variety of means including meetings, reports, letters and presentations
ü Advanced oral and written communication skills in English to establish and maintain a wide range of contacts with health care professionals and community organizations.
ü Demonstrated ability to analyze and make independent decisions.
Ability to think critically and be innovative to create/modify strategy or intervention techniques to suit the individual needs of patients.
