PICU Nurse (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Location: Nauru Medical Centre, Nauru
Contract Type: Full-Time
Availability: Preferably can join immediately

About the Role:

Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate PICU Nurse to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through expert clinical practice and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit.
• Monitor, assess, and record patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Operate and maintain life-support equipment and infusion devices.
• Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care.
• Educate and support families regarding patient conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent qualification).
• Valid nursing license/registration in home country.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or similar critical care setting.
• BLS and PALS certification preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
