PILING FOREMAN (CIVIL CONSTRUCTION)

1. Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate all piling activities on site, ensuring that works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, drawings, quality standards, and approved method statements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Site Supervision

  • Oversee daily piling operations (drilling, cleaning, cage fixing, concreting, casing installation/removal).
  • Ensure correct pile location, verticality, depth, and bore quality before concreting.
  • Monitor rig operations, cycle times, soil conditions, and production rates.
  • Coordinate the activities of rig operators, crane operators, rig helpers, drillers, steel fixers, and concreting teams.

B. Technical Control

  • Review drawings and method statements to understand pile details and sequences.
  • Verify setting-out provided by surveyors before commencement of drilling.
  • Ensure reinforcement cages, tremie pipes, and concrete mix design comply with project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate daily piling logs (depth, time, concrete volume, cut-off level, delays).

C. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections before and after pile concreting.
  • Control verticality, overbreak, concrete top levels, and final pile records.
  • Report deviations, defects, or non-conformities immediately to the engineer.

D. Health & Safety

  • Implement all site HSE requirements, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ensure proper lifting operations and exclusion zones around rigs and cranes.
  • Monitor safe handling of bentonite/polymer, spoil disposal, and site housekeeping.
  • Prevent unsafe acts and stop work when required for safety.

E. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with surveyors, QA/QC, batching plant, concrete pumps, and logistics.
  • Plan daily work sequences with the Piling Engineer.
  • Communicate manpower, material, and equipment needs.
  • Report progress, issues, and delays to management.

F. Documentation

  • Maintain daily progress reports, rig productivity logs, concreting logs, and material usage.
  • Record breakdowns, idle time, and reasons for delays.
  • Assist in preparing as-built records and final project documentation.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Diploma / ITI in Civil or Mechanical (or equivalent).
  • 5–10 years’ experience in piling projects (rotary/CFA/bored piles).
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings and pile terminology.
  • Experience handling piling rigs, cranes, and heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with HSE regulations and safe lifting procedures.

4. Skills & Competencies

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures
  • Knowledge of UAE site safety practices
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capability

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Daily production vs. planned production
  • Quality of executed piles (verticality, depth accuracy, minimal rework)
  • Compliance with HSE standards (zero incidents)
  • Documentation accuracy and timeliness
  • Equipment & crew utilization efficiency

6. Working Conditions

  • Site-based role, long working hours as per project requirements
  • Outdoor, dusty, noisy, and heavy equipment environment
  • Requires physical fitness and frequent site movement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
