Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pipe Fitter specializing in Underground and Layout Worpiping systems in underground environments and layout projects. Your expertise will ensure that all piping installations meet safety standards, project specifications, and industry codes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects, utilizing a broad range of welding techniques and mechanical Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems.
- Perform pipe fitting tasks including cutting, threading, soldering, bending, and assembly of pipes using hand tools and power tools.
- Execute welding operations such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and <LOCATION> welding to join pipes securely according to ASME codes & standards.
- Install fire sprinkler systems and HVAC piping in compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Conduct rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy pipe sections safely on construction sites.
- Use calipers, basic math, and measurement tools to ensure precise pipe dimensions and alignments.
- Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting work areas regularly, adhering to safety protocols, and documenting progress through reports.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues using schematics, mechanical knowledge, and pipe threading techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter with a focus on underground installation and layout work in construction or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, TIG, and <LOCATION> welding; certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, pipe threading, tube bending, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to pipeline installation and welding practices.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, rigging equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical devices safely.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during installation processes.
- Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety protocols related to plumbing, HVAC systems, fire sprinkler fitting, and maintenance tasks.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions from schematics or technical guides effectively.
