The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising the installation and testing of pipeline systems for infrastructure projects such as water supply, drainage, and industrial pipelines. The role ensures that all work is completed safely, on time, and in compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute pipeline works including excavation, pipe laying, jointing, and testing.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure technical accuracy.
- Supervise site activities and coordinate with contractors, supervisors, and labor teams.
- Ensure pipeline alignment, gradient, and installation are as per approved drawings.
- Oversee welding, jointing, and hydrotesting activities to maintain quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain site progress reports, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Ensure all safety measures and quality control procedures are followed at the site.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams for inspections and approvals.
- Monitor material usage and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Identify and resolve any technical or site-related issues during execution.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- Experience: 3–8 years in pipeline construction (water supply, sewerage, or industrial projects).
- Technical Knowledge:
- Pipeline installation, welding, and hydrotesting procedures.
- IS codes and relevant industry standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office preferred.
