Piping Design Engineer

Role Overview

The Piping Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and detailing piping systems for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The role involves creating 2D/3D piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering codes and project requirements.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, water treatment, power plant, or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D layouts and 3D piping models using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or Revit (as applicable).
• Prepare P&IDs, piping layouts, GA drawings, isometric drawings, and MTO (Material Take-Off).
• Perform routing of pipes, considering accessibility, maintenance, safety, and structural constraints.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation, and electrical teams.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant international standards.
• Review and interpret equipment GA drawings, vendor documents, and PFD/P&IDs.
• Support piping stress analysis teams by providing necessary inputs.
• Identify clashes and resolve them using 3D modeling tools (e.g., Navisworks).
• Prepare support drawings and coordinate with structural teams for pipe supports.
• Participate in design reviews and implement changes as required.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings and documents as per project schedule.

Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS/E3D, Revit MEP, or similar software.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.1, API, and relevant piping codes.
• Understanding of P&IDs, equipment drawings, and plant layouts.
• Basic knowledge of piping stress analysis tools like CAESAR II (optional but preferred).

Soft Skills:

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under deadlines with a detail-oriented approach.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
