Role Overview
The Piping Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and detailing piping systems for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The role involves creating 2D/3D piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering codes and project requirements.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, water treatment, power plant, or industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 2D layouts and 3D piping models using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or Revit (as applicable).
- Prepare P&IDs, piping layouts, GA drawings, isometric drawings, and MTO (Material Take-Off).
- Perform routing of pipes, considering accessibility, maintenance, safety, and structural constraints.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation, and electrical teams.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant international standards.
- Review and interpret equipment GA drawings, vendor documents, and PFD/P&IDs.
- Support piping stress analysis teams by providing necessary inputs.
- Identify clashes and resolve them using 3D modeling tools (e.g., Navisworks).
- Prepare support drawings and coordinate with structural teams for pipe supports.
- Participate in design reviews and implement changes as required.
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings and documents as per project schedule.
Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS/E3D, Revit MEP, or similar software.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.1, API, and relevant piping codes.
- Understanding of P&IDs, equipment drawings, and plant layouts.
- Basic knowledge of piping stress analysis tools like CAESAR II (optional but preferred).
Soft Skills:
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under deadlines with a detail-oriented approach.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
