Piping Engineer Responsible for overseeing all piping engineering activities, including design review, material take-off, procurement coordination, technical queries, and onsite supervision during construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Review project requirements and scope of work; study specifications, drawings, and other project documents to ensure applicability to the piping scope.

Prepare qualifications, deviations, and exemption lists against client specifications.

Perform and coordinate material take-off (MTO) activities and provide details required for procurement.

Identify variations in scope and ensure technical agreement with Client, Subcontractor, or Vendor.

Prepare and implement project procedures, method statements, and work instructions.

Provide onsite supervision during construction and commissioning phases.

Prepare Technical Queries (TQ), Concession Requests, or Waivers as required.

Liaise with Client Engineers on technical and material-related piping issues.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:

BE/B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 10 years as a Piping Engineer, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

Familiarity with project deliverables and documentation.

Ability to manage all site activities in line with project requirements, ensuring timely provision of all necessary details and resources.

Good knowledge of procurement processes and resource management.

Thorough understanding of ASME, API, AWS, ASTM codes, and other relevant international standards.

Proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing piping and mechanical drawings.

Skilled in preparation of shop drawings and as-built drawings.

Conversant with oil & gas HSE requirements, work practices, and quality standards.

Capable of coordinating with Client, Contractor, and Third-Party Inspectors (TPI) for all QA/QC activities.
