PL/SQL Developer
Application Developer Analyst
Role
As a PL/SQL Developer, you will be part of a dynamic technology team responsible for
designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support our growing
operations across the Middle East region.
You will work closely with application developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver
high-performance database components and services. This role is critical to ensuring data
integrity, performance, and scalability of our enterprise systems.
We are expanding our team to support a major transformation initiative aimed at modernizing
our application ecosystem and enabling business expansion into new markets across MEA and
beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strategic technology program that will
shape the future of our data architecture.
About You
You’re a seasoned PL/SQL developer with a strong background in designing and optimizing
database solutions. You have hands-on experience with Oracle databases and are familiar with
modern development practices.
You’re passionate about writing clean, efficient code and enjoy solving complex data
challenges. Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) is a plus, especially if you’ve
used
it to expose database functionality via RESTful APIs
Core responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to
support business applications.
Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with application teams to integrate database logic with front-end and
middleware components.
Develop and maintain data interfaces and ETL processes between systems.
Support data migration and transformation activities for new implementations and
rollouts.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
Document technical specifications, data flows, and development processes.
Provide Level 2/3 support for database-related issues and enhancements.
Leverage ORDS to expose PL/SQL logic as RESTful services (if applicable).
Implement data security, masking, and auditing mechanisms.
Understand how PL/SQL components interact with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka
consumers/producers).
Design database procedures that support microservices architecture (stateless, loosely
coupled)
Enable logging for audit trails and operational visibility. debugging of PL/SQL code and
resolution of production issues.
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent or a related discipline
Minimum of 5 years//' experience as a PL/SQL development
Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and performance tuning.
Experience with writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD practices.
Experience in supporting enterprise-grade applications and data platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable:
Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of data modeling and relational database design.
Prior involvement in finance or insurance domain projects.
