Position Overview
Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA), a statewide public charter school, seeks a dynamic and innovative Kindergarten School Teacher to deliver engaging instruction within a blended learning environment. This position supports HTA’s mission-driven instructional model through both face-to-face and virtual learning modalities.
The ideal candidate demonstrates instructional excellence, adaptability, creativity, innovation and a commitment to supporting students academically and socially in alignment with the school’s approved charter contract and state reporting requirements.
Description
Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing face-to-face, place-based/project-based, and virtual instruction to students in your class;
- Preparing courses and designing project-based and place-based lessons;
- Serving as a support/guide for parents and learning coaches;
- Holding tutoring sessions with individual students and small groups;
- Organizing subject-specific field trips and projects in accordance with the curriculum, school safety and administrative approval protocols.
- Designing place-based and integrated curricula that focus on community impact, STEM skills, career investigations, and social-emotional learning;
- Working collaboratively with Administration and the middle school team;
- Participating in required meetings , professional development, and school events.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Hawaiʻi Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) teaching license appropriate to the position. Preferably Elementary Education K-6 license designation.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in child development, early childhood education, or elementary education.
- Minimum of three years of elementary teaching experience.
- A passion for ʻāina/place-based and project-based instruction.
- A desire to integrate and collaboratively design multidisciplinary curricula.
If you are hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a Program to continue employment with the HTA PCS. Within each year of employment, you must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements, as set forth by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB). It is your responsibility to ensure the program you have enrolled is aligned with the teaching line you are hired in.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary Range: $56,918.00- $95,632.00 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Submit Form 5 or Personnel Action Form,if applicable.
