Your Specific Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of urban and regional planning concepts; demonstrated skill in growth management; demonstrated skill in applying Chapters 163 and 380 and Rule 9J-2;
• Knowledge of the development process and permitting programs; skills in both written and verbal communication;
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and negotiate effectively;
• Ability to perform word processing on a personal computer; ability to apply planning methodologies, such as population projection;
• Ability to apply critical thinking for most planning problems;
• Ability to independently exercise sound judgment performing duties;
• Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time efficiently;
• Ability to provide technical assistance to local governments;
• Aability to travel and represent the Department on committees and provide effective presentations to elected officials and staff.

Pay: $47,668.01 Annually

The Work You Will Do: This position is responsible for conducting in-depth review of projects requiring a broad knowledge and expertise in planning principles and techniques and the use of independent judgment in implementing Florida’s growth management laws.

The Difference You Will Make: This position is an advanced, professional planning position and is responsible for implementing the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Program (Chapter 163, Part Two, Florida Statutes) and the Development of Regional Impact Program (Chapter 380, Florida Statutes)
