Role Purpose
The Planning & Cost Control Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of project scheduling, budgetary oversight, and performance optimization. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with quality standards through rigorous monitoring via Primavera P6 and integrated cost-control systems.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Areas1. Project Planning & Scheduling (The "Time" Pillar)
- Master Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera (P6); provide daily status reports and high-level presentations to senior management.
- Critical Path Analysis: Supervise schedule analysis to identify "bottlenecks" or problem areas. Proactively recommend recovery plans or alternative sequences to improve project velocity.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with all project disciplines to ensure a unified understanding of schedule dependencies and the integration of diverse work streams.
2. Cost Control & Financial Stewardship (The "Budget" Pillar)
- Budgetary Oversight: Monitor and control project expenditures, specifically focusing on labor and allied services, ensuring all costs remain within the approved Budget at Completion (BAC).
- Resource Prioritization: Monitor material requirements based on the construction sequence to ensure timely site availability while preventing capital tie-up in excess inventory.
3. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Systems Standardization: Implement and maintain a systematic documentation workflow to ensure project traceability and data integrity.
- Quality & Audit Readiness: Train and motivate staff on documentation standards; conduct regular internal audits to ensure the team is "Audit-Ready" for client or third-party inspections.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface between site management and client counterparts for all planning and scheduling queries.
4. Performance Management & KPIs
- Productivity Monitoring: Track employee and subcontractor performance to identify variances between Earned Value (EV) and Actual Cost (AC) / Actual Productivity.
- KPI Reporting: Measure, compile, and analyze monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); present data-driven insights to management to facilitate informed decision-making.
Job Specifications (Qualifications) Bachelor’s Degree in Civil,
Experience 10-15 years of experience in Project Controls/Planning (Construction preferred).
Technical Skills Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Advanced Excel.
Soft Skills Strong analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to lead audit processes.
Pay: ﷼10,000.00 - ﷼12,000.00 per month
