About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support the planning team in the preparation, monitoring, and updating of project schedules for high-rise building projects. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical background in construction who can interpret drawings, timelines, and site data to contribute to effective project control.

The Junior Planner will work closely with the Planning Engineer and project team to ensure schedule compliance, report progress, and assist in forecasting project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing detailed project schedules based on construction drawings, scope of work, and project deliverables.
• Support the Planning Engineer in updating and maintaining the project baseline and look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Identify delays or deviations and provide input for recovery plans and mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate progress data.
• Assist in preparing project progress charts, bar charts, histograms, and other visual tools.
• Support the preparation of internal planning documents, authority submissions, and client reports.
• Liaise with procurement and commercial departments to ensure planning alignment with materials and resources.
• Participate in meetings and support the team in preparing presentations and progress reports.
• Maintain all planning records and documentation in an organized and auditable manner.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Basic knowledge of construction methods and sequencing, especially in high-rise projects.
• Familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and basic reporting techniques.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings (civil, MEP, structural).
• Good analytical and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (mandatory)
• Minimum 2-3 years of construction experience, with at least 2-3 years in a planning support role on high-rise projects in the UAE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
