Planning Engineer

Job Title : Planning Engineer

Apply Project management and planning knowledge to project and operate project management tools and techniques to meet the project requirements of projects ,responsible for developing and reporting on the project plan and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in developing the program integrated schedule consistent with the Major Projects Common Process.

Develop and manage detailed schedules covering activities through to the start of execution.

Manage and support planning activities of the contractors chosen to execute the program of work

Assist in developing the schedule process, system and procedures to support the program.

Assess potential contractors’ and vendors’ schedule capabilities.

Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities and administration, ensuring alignment of all methods and procedures with the Department Manager, Project Controls & Planning.

Coordinate with the Department Manager, Project Controls & Planning to develop detailed periodic project budget performance.

Work closely with the Procurement Department and provide advice and input on procurement strategy for ongoing developments; assist the Procurement Department in preparing tender documents and in detailing bills of quantities.

Set work program and target milestones for each phase based on the project plan.

Monitor critical activities based on the project schedule and advise project management.

Prepares and submit updated work program and cash flow curve showing actual progress and identify areas of weakness and establishes means and methods for recovery, if any, as well as new critical activities.

Monitor day to day work progress and prepare the weekly and monthly program and report. Maintain and record update of site work progress obtained from Project Manager.

Prepares monthly report reflecting work progress summary.

Report to the Project Manager about the current work progress and make comparison between plan and actual progress and study impact of alternative approaches to work.

Assists in preparing work program, cash flow and manpower histogram for tenders.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineer, Project Management Planning(PMP), Primavera

Experience: 5 to 7 years related experience

Requirements:

Excellent problem solving and decision making skill

Strong planning and analytical skills and attention to details

Able to work on extended hours to fulfill and respond to emergency situation

Strong familiarity with project management software such as Primavera and computer literate Interpersonal skill, ethical values and commitment to continual improvement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
