Planning Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction sector. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Project Manager and project team, ensuring projects are executed on time and within the allocated budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure all project activities are properly scheduled and adequately resourced.
  • Continuously monitor and update project schedules to meet established targets.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various departments such as Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Quality, and Commissioning to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all relevant parties by effectively communicating project updates and progress.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis, including expected billing and anticipated cash outflows.
  • Calculate optimal material, manpower, and machinery requirements for project activities.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively, including workforce histograms and progress measurement and reporting templates.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by providing regular updates and ensuring all stakeholders are informed about project progress and any deviations from the plan.
  • Lead and manage a team of planning engineers and other project professionals to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Prepare and update quality schedules, weekly look-ahead schedules, and recovery schedules for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in construction management software [relevant software/tools, e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project] is a plus.
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g. PMP, PMI-SP)
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
