Job Title: Planning Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and monitoring project schedules, coordinating with different departments, and ensuring timely execution of project milestones in alignment with contract requirements and company goals. This role requires strong planning, communication, and project control skills, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and project performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the master project schedule using Primavera P6 in line with contract and proposal requirements.
  • Identify project deliverables, milestones, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource requirements.
  • Allocate staffing and materials across various project phases using a project measurement and monitoring system.
  • Monitor and report project progress through daily, weekly, and monthly reports; highlight potential delays and propose corrective actions.
  • Review and update schedules, forecasts, and reports to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and clients for schedule approvals, project reviews, and progress tracking.
  • Analyze scheduling conflicts, risks, and trends; recommend actions to mitigate schedule delays.
  • Develop and maintain resource histograms, project control systems, and interface plans for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams.
  • Track project KPIs and maintain compliance with internal audit requirements.
  • Conduct internal project reviews and participate in client schedule reviews as needed.
  • Assist in the development of planning processes and systems for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years and maximum of 10 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of project control systems and internal audit processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead planning efforts across cross-functional teams.
