Job Description

The role is critical in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. By collaborating closely with the Senior Planner, project teams and stakeholders, risks are identified and mitigated, contributing to the successful delivery of the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Baseline Programme Preparations: - Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules using planning software. Develop detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual milestones.

2. Project Monitoring & Reporting: - Monitor progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions. - Prepare and submit all Weekly, Monthly Client Reports, including Internal Management Reports - Adhere to planning standards and procedures, ensuring all work aligns with organizational and project-specific requirements.

3. Delay Analysis: - Prepare a comprehensive delay analysis in collaboration with the Senior Planner or Lead Planner. - Gather Relevant data for each delay event and create a detailed timeline for each and every event. - Write up of the narrative for each delay event.

4. Collaboration, Communication & Problem-Solving: - Coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment and synchronization of schedules.

Key Competencies

1. Project Scheduling Software Expertise: Proficiency in advanced project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent, with the ability to create, modify, and manage complex project schedules. Including the ability to conduct schedule risk analysis and scenario planning, identifying potential bottlenecks or delays and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project deadlines are met.

2. Project Monitoring, Reporting & Risk Management: Preparing progress reports, and understanding risk management techniques. Ability to update dashboards, track risks, and support contingency planning.

3. Earned Value Management (EVM): Competency in using earned value techniques to measure project performance, assess progress against planned schedules, and forecast future project performance.

4. Contract and Delay Analysis: Familiarity with contract terms, delay analysis, and claims management, including techniques like time impact analysis (TIA) for addressing project delays and disputes.

5. Change Control Management and Cost and Schedule Integration: Experience managing changes to project schedules, analyzing the impact of scope changes, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication of schedule revisions. Including the Ability to integrate cost control data into project schedules for effective cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting, working closely with cost control teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in project planning and scheduling, with proven expertise in using Primavera P6, ERP, MS Project, or similar software.
  • Certification in project planning or project management (PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project with demonstrated expertise in schedule creation and analysis
  • Basic understanding of Delay Analysis and EOT Claims
  • Expertise in MS Excel and other reporting tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably within construction, oil and gas, infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, critical path analysis, earned value management (EVM), and risk management techniques.
  • Proven track record of effectively and successfully completed marine projects outside or within the company as Junior Project Planner.
