Planning Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Planning Engineer to support construction projects on a contractual basis. The role involves creating and managing detailed project schedules, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring timely execution of project activities. This position suits a self-motivated professional with strong planning, reporting, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare baseline schedules and update programs using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Monitor project progress and provide weekly/monthly status updates.
• Develop 3-week lookahead programs and highlight potential delays or bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure alignment with project milestones.
• Prepare EOT justifications, recovery plans, and delay analysis when needed.
• Generate progress S-curves, histograms, and other visual reporting tools.
• Assist in resource planning and cash flow forecasting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of planning experience in UAE-based construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Knowledge of construction site workflows, sequences, and coordination challenges.
• Strong communication and independent reporting skills.

Preferred:

• Experience working as a freelancer or independent consultant.
• Available for immediate or short-notice start.
• PMP or PSP certification is advantageous.
