Job Description: Planning Engineer Position: Planning Engineer Department:* Projects / Engineering Location:* Dubai Reports To: Project Manager / Planning Manager Role Overview:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling the project schedule, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution. The role involves preparing baseline programs, tracking progress, analyzing delays, forecasting timelines, and coordinating with project stakeholders to achieve project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare detailed baseline schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
  • Develop WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), project milestones, and resource-loaded schedules.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term programs aligned with project requirements.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.
  • Identify delays, variations, and forecast schedule impacts proactively.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and schedule updates for management and clients.
  • Conduct earned value analysis (EVA) and prepare productivity reports.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and site teams to track activity progress.
  • Attend project coordination meetings and present schedule status.
  • Communicate risks, delays, and required recovery actions to project leadership.

4. Delay Analysis

  • Perform delay impact analysis (EOT claims, disruption analysis, critical path assessment).
  • Prepare delay notifications and supporting documents for contractual submission.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and recovery schedules.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain planning documentation such as baselines, revisions, logs, and project records.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Support tender planning by preparing preliminary schedules for new projects.

6. Resource & Cost Integration

  • Prepare resource histograms, manpower plans, and equipment schedules.
  • Integrate cost data for cost-loaded schedules where required.
  • Assist in budget forecasting and cost-time relationship analysis.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering.
  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project is mandatory.
  • Experience in high-rise, infrastructure, industrial, or MEP projects preferred.
  • Understanding of contractual requirements and claims (FIDIC experience is an advantage).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Primavera P6, and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and forecasting capabilities.

Additional Requirements (Optional to Add):

  • UAE experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with local authority approval processes.
  • Certification such as PMP / PMI-SP is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED16,000.00 per month
