Role Purpose
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for building construction projects, ensuring timely execution and supporting project teams with planning, reporting, and progress tracking. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and proficiency in project planning tools.
Key Responsibilities.
- Prepare, update, and maintain the baseline program using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Develop detailed schedules covering procurement, engineering, construction, testing & commissioning.
- Identify critical paths, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Monitor daily/weekly progress of construction activities.
- Compare actual progress with the baseline and highlight delays.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Conduct site visits to verify progress and planned work.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Attend project meetings and provide schedule updates and recovery plans.
- Support the project team with planning advice and solutions to maintain timelines.
- Identify delays, disruptions, and potential risks in the schedule.
- Assist in preparing EOT (Extension of Time) claims and time impact analysis.
- Develop recovery or acceleration programs when needed.
- Maintain planning documents, logs, and schedule revisions.
- Ensure planning compliance with contractual requirements and project specifications.
- Prepare S-curves, manpower histograms, and resources allocation plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in building construction projects (residential, commercial, high-rise, mixed-use).
- UPDA is Mandatory for this position
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and planning tools.
- Good understanding of project management principles (PMI certification preferred).
- Experience working with consultants and contractors in GCC (Qatar preferred).
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.

Pay: QAR15,000.00 - QAR20,000.00 per month
