Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, coordinating with project teams, tracking progress, and ensuring timely execution of project deliverables. The role requires expertise in planning tools, coordination with multiple departments, and real-time monitoring of construction activities to support on-time project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed project schedules using tools like MS Project for multi-storey residential buildings.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Execution teams to align the schedule with actual site activities.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and critical path items to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and update S-curve, progress charts, manpower and resource histograms.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against baseline schedules and generate variance reports.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess actual progress and identify potential delays.
- Assist the Project Manager in resource planning, productivity analysis, and re-sequencing activities as required.
- Generate look-ahead schedules (1-week, 2-week, monthly) and coordinate with execution teams for priority actions.
- Highlight risks and delays proactively and provide mitigation/recovery plans.
- Support client and internal reporting with accurate MIS and dashboards.
- Review contractor and subcontractor schedules and monitor their compliance.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of planning tools MS Project, Excel.
- Understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing, especially in high-rise residential projects.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with multiple teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Educational Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech – Civil Engineering
- Certification in Project Planning/Primavera (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling in residential building projects.
- Hands-on experience in MSB (Multi-Storey Building) construction preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
