Job Title: Planning Engineer – High-Rise Building Project

Job Summary
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing, updating, and monitoring the construction schedule of a high-rise building project in Dubai. The role supports the Planning Manager and Project Manager by tracking progress, identifying delays, assisting in recovery planning, and ensuring compliance with contract milestones and authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Scheduling
- Develop and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare Level 4 detailed construction programs.
- Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) aligned with project scope.
- Develop short-term look-ahead schedules (2-week and 1-month plans).
- Prepare manpower and resource loading schedules.
2. Progress Monitoring
- Collect daily and weekly site progress data.
- Update schedule and generate variance reports.
- Identify critical path activities and monitor float consumption.
- Highlight potential delays and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate closely with site team for accurate reporting.
3. Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Generate dashboards showing:
- Planned vs. Actual Progress
- Critical Path Activities
- Schedule Performance Indicators
- Prepare progress presentations for client and consultant meetings.
4. Delay Analysis & Documentation
- Assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
- Perform basic delay analysis under supervision of Planning Manager.
- Maintain proper documentation for contractual records.
- Review subcontractor schedules and progress reports.
5. Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Align schedule with authority inspections and approvals from:
- Dubai Municipality
- Dubai Civil Defence
- DEWA
- Ensure procurement and material delivery timelines support construction schedule.
6. Risk & Recovery Planning
- Identify schedule risks and report to Planning Manager.
- Assist in preparing recovery programs if delays occur.
- Monitor productivity trends and forecast potential impacts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Primavera P6 certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in construction planning.
- At least 3–5 years experience in high-rise building projects.
- Minimum 2–3 years UAE experience preferred.
- Experience in structural sequencing (core wall, PT slabs, façade, MEP integration) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in:
- Primavera P6
- MS Project (advantage)
- Advanced Excel
- Knowledge of:
- Critical Path Method (CPM)
- Resource loading
- Basic delay analysis techniques
- Understanding of Dubai construction authority processes.
