Planning Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development: Create detailed, resource-loaded baseline schedules (Gantt charts, WBS) covering all project phases from site mobilization and MEP rough-ins to final snagging and handover.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track day-to-day site progress against the approved baseline schedule. Conduct regular site visits to verify actual completion percentages.
  • Reporting: Prepare and issue accurate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboard summaries, and look-ahead schedules for management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Delay Analysis & Mitigation: Identify potential timeline bottlenecks (e.g., procurement delays for specialized equipment, pending mall management NOCs, or ADM approvals) and proactively propose recovery plans or mitigation strategies.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers to align delivery timelines and ensure seamless site operations.
  • Resource Management: Monitor labor, equipment, and material allocations to ensure optimal productivity and cost-efficiency across multiple concurrent sites.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all project schedules, revisions, delays, and official timeline extensions for contractual and commercial purposes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a strictly related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as a Planning Engineer in the UAE, specifically within the interior fit-out, MEP, or facilities management sectors.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in planning software, specifically Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (for custom Gantt charts and data tracking) and AutoCAD.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the standard sequencing of fit-out works, including structural partitioning, MEP infrastructure, architectural finishes, and system commissioning.
  • Local Market Familiarity: Prior experience working with major UAE developers and mall management guidelines (e.g., Yas Mall, Marina Mall), as well as familiarity with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) and Civil Defense approval timelines.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex scheduling data clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Fluency in English is required.

Pay: Up to AED1.00 per hour
