Salary Range: QAR 9,000 – QAR 12,000 (All-Inclusive)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Planning Engineer – Civil (Marine Works) with strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, and reporting for marine construction works, preferably within QatarEnergy or oil & gas marine infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be based in Qatar and ready for immediate deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 in alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare and update baseline schedules, look-ahead programs, recovery schedules, and progress measurement systems.
  • Monitor and track progress of marine civil works such as:
  • Quay walls
  • Jetties
  • Pile foundations
  • Marine piling & concrete structures
  • Perform critical path analysis (CPA) and identify potential delays or disruptions in execution.
  • Prepare delay impact analysis, extension of time (EOT) claims, and support contractual documentation.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with engineering, execution, and procurement teams to ensure accurate planning data and forecasts.
  • Participate in project review meetings with QatarEnergy, consultants, and subcontractors to present planning reports and updates.
  • Ensure all project controls are compliant with QatarEnergy standards, contractual obligations, and project planning procedures.
  • Generate and submit weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, histograms, and variance analyses.
  • Assist in resource planning, cost loading, and earned value management (EVM) where required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in planning for marine civil construction projects (preferably within oil & gas/port infrastructure).
  • Proven hands-on experience in QatarEnergy or equivalent government projects.
  • Proficiency in:
  • Primavera P6
  • Microsoft Project
  • MS Excel (Advanced Level)
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Construction sequencing
  • Resource planning
  • Cost loading and control
  • Familiarity with Qatar construction regulations, marine work permits, and port-based execution challenges.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Mandatory Requirements

  • The candidate must be currently in Qatar
  • Valid QID and transferable NOC
  • Immediate availability to join

Preferred Qualifications

  • UPDA/MMUP Certification (Advantageous)
  • Experience in Qatar port/marine terminal projects
  • Exposure to contract administration, claims, and project controls documentation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: QAR9,000.00 - QAR12,000.00 per month
