Planning Engineer (Construction)

To develop, monitor, and control project schedules, resources, and progress to ensure timely completion of construction projects in compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (or MS Project) for all phases of building construction.
• Develop baseline programs, cash flow forecasts, and manpower histograms.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely progress updates.
• Monitor project progress and identify delays or deviations from the baseline schedule.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including earned value analysis and variance reports.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, constraints, and mitigation plans.
• Assist in preparing recovery programs and time impact analyses for claims and extensions of time (EOT).
• Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with the QS and procurement teams to align material delivery schedules with project timelines.
• Support tendering teams by preparing preliminary schedules and resource estimations for new projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in building construction planning (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and resource planning.
• Good understanding of FIDIC contracts and project management principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
