Planning Engineer - Fit-Out & Construction

Job Summary

Al Saif Graphics (ASG) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning Engineer – Fit-Out & Construction to manage project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities.

The role is responsible for developing project schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with site and project teams, identifying delays, and ensuring projects are completed within timeline and budget. The Planning Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Commercial teams to ensure efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare baseline programs including resource and cost loading.
• Break down project scope into WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
• Establish project milestones aligned with contractual timelines.

2. Project Monitoring & Control

• Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against baseline schedule.
• Identify delays, risks, and potential bottlenecks.
• Propose mitigation strategies and recovery plans.
• Update schedules regularly and circulate progress reports.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, and subcontractors.
• Ensure material procurement timelines align with construction schedule.
• Support planning of manpower and equipment deployment.
• Attend project meetings and provide planning updates.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain delay logs, risk registers, and variation tracking.
• Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims when required.
• Prepare dashboards and S-curves for management reporting.

5. Commercial & Cost Interface

• Coordinate with Quantity Surveyor and Commercial team for cost monitoring.
• Track progress for billing milestones and payment applications.
• Assist in cash flow forecasting based on project schedule.

6. Risk Management

• Identify schedule-related risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor critical path activities and ensure timely execution.
• Evaluate subcontractor performance in relation to schedule compliance.

7. Compliance & Quality Alignment

• Ensure planning activities comply with contract requirements.
• Align schedule with HSE and QA/QC requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits and claims.

8. Continuous Improvement

• Recommend process improvements in planning and reporting workflows.
• Implement digital planning tools and automation where possible.
• Contribute to standardizing project planning procedures across projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in Fit-Out and Construction projects.
• Strong experience in Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Experience in interior fit-out, commercial projects, exhibitions, or building construction.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and project reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in UAE Fit Out & Construction projects.
• Knowledge of contractual terms related to delays and EOT claims.
• PMP Certification (Advantage).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
