Planning Engineer (French Speaker)

Job Purpose

Develop and deliver competitive, compliant tender schedules and planning documents during the project tendering phase, ensuring competitive, realistic, and technically sound project timelines, with effective coordination in both English and French-speaking environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare preliminary project programs based on tender documents.
  • Define project scope, activities, durations, and sequencing.
  • Identify critical paths and key milestones.
  • Prepare resource-loaded schedules when required.
  • Develop phasing and sequencing strategies to optimize project duration.
  • Support value engineering initiatives.

2. Review of Tender Documents

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract requirements.
  • Identify planning constraints, risks, and opportunities.
  • Highlight any inconsistencies or missing information affecting schedule.

3. Risk Analysis

  • Identify potential risks and delays in project execution.
  • Propose mitigation strategies during tender stage.
  • Contribute to time-risk analysis when applicable.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare planning reports, narratives, and schedule basis documents.
  • Submit tender programs in required formats (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with client and company standards.

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Certification in planning/scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6) is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in planning within construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Good understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with cost-loading and resource planning is a plus.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in French (spoken and written) – mandatory.
  • Good command of English.
