Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer (Construction) is responsible for preparing and monitoring detailed construction schedules and plans, ensuring the project is executed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules for construction activities.
- Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS) and baseline programs in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure schedule accuracy and feasibility.
- Conduct critical path analysis, forecast delays, and recommend recovery actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.
- Monitor and report on resource allocation, productivity, and project performance.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis.
- Ensure alignment between actual site progress and planned schedule.
- Track subcontractor progress and ensure timely updates and integration into master schedule.
- Support cost control and procurement planning with schedule integration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling (buildings, infrastructure) in UAE.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Sound knowledge of construction processes, drawings, and project phases.
- Experience in delay analysis, risk assessment, and claims preparation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP / PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Familiarity with BIM integration and construction sequencing.
