Planning Manager - MEP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager with a strong background in Main Contracting and proven expertise in the MEP sector . The Planning Manager will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project programs at all stages of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-value construction projects involving complex MEP works and a thorough understanding of project controls and commercial implications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning function across MEP projects from tender to project completion.
  • Prepare baseline programs, resource histograms, cash flow forecasts, and progress measurement systems using Primavera P6 (or equivalent).
  • Integrate MEP activities within the overall construction master schedule.
  • Liaise with the project, commercial, procurement, and design teams to ensure alignment of planning outputs with operational needs.
  • Monitor progress, identify delays, and propose corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Attend client, consultant, and subcontractor meetings and present planning updates.
  • Evaluate subcontractor programs and monitor adherence to main contractor schedules.
  • Provide delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) support, and forensic planning when required.
  • Support the tendering team in developing time schedules and methodologies during bid stage.
  • Prepare and issue weekly/monthly reports showing actual vs. planned performance.
  • Ensure planning procedures are followed and documentation is in line with internal QA/QC standards.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of planning experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a Main Contractor role focused on MEP works .
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential.
  • Solid understanding of MEP sequencing, construction techniques, and interfaces.
  • Familiar with contract conditions, including FIDIC and capable of supporting EOT claims.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
