Planning Manager - Snr

About Your Team

You’ll be joining a seasoned project delivery team known for technical excellence and collaborative execution. You’ll work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, leading the planning process while ensuring programmes are aligned with contractual requirements and ALEC’s high standards.

Your Role

As Planning Manager – Senior , you will:

• Review drawings, BOQs, and contract documents to develop and manage robust project programmes
• Engage with technical teams to define sequence, methodology, and key planning assumptions
• Assess risks, conduct workshops, and drive innovative scheduling solutions
• Support 4D planning requirements and integrate digital tools where needed
• Prepare programme narratives and ensure alignment with ALEC standards and procedures
• Establish activity coding, sequence critical paths, and link milestones
• Align procurement schedules with delivery strategies and subcontractor timelines
• Monitor progress, interpret actual performance, and produce forecast and “look ahead” schedules
• Support change management, including mitigation and acceleration strategies
• Prepare time impact assessments and support EOT claims and delay analyses
• Load and level resource data to develop resource curves and track productivity
• Lead reporting efforts and ensure consistent documentation across planning processes

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Building (or equivalent)
• 15–18 years’ experience in planning within the building construction industry
• Proven technical and contractual knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Deep understanding of planning principles, critical path method (CPM), and resource loading
• Strong ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate progress
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach
