The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) Juvenile Justice Unit (JJ) fund numerous juvenile programs throughout the state to ensure that children in Georgia who come into contact with the juvenile justice system has access to appropriate services and support. These programs are designed to improve treatment outcomes, reduce recidivism, and enhance public safety. Funding is directed toward services for youth in need of services (CHINS), delinquent youth, and professional training opportunities for juvenile justice stakeholders across the state.

The Planning & Policy Development Specialist will administer juvenile justice-specific grant programs, assist with drafting state and federal grant proposals, and track and report on the status of grant funds to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements. Additionally, this position will provide programmatic management of juvenile justice grants and serve as a key point of contact between local and state partners. Occasional in-state and out-of-state overnight travel will be required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals to address the needs of the state

Coordinates, monitors, and assists with all data collection and assists with compiling information required for grant reports

Analyze, research, and develop reports that include summary and analytical explanations

Collaborate with Grant Specialist to manage the project budget and approve allowable expenditures

Monitor compliance with grant stipulations and program progress through on-site evaluations and review plans and reports

Serve as the subject-matter expert on juvenile justice initiatives

Cultivate partnerships between public entities to aide in supporting juvenile justice grant supported programs and projects

Use independent judgement to produce quality work within time constraints

Create and disseminate information packages, fact sheets, program newsletters, resource guides, policy manuals, etc.

Effectively and accurately communicate information to stakeholders

Coordinates meetings and activities of grantee stakeholders and prepare appropriate materials for meetings

Craft, develop, and deliver presentations to live, varied audiences

Serve as the logistical coordinator for all project-related focus groups, workshops, trainings sessions, and other events
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, social science, sociology, social work, humanities, or a related field from an accredited college or university

Two years or more of related experience in one or more of the following areas: grant writing, criminal justice services, juvenile court services, youth services, project evaluation/monitoring, program management, etc.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations, conduct research, and prepare analysis

Strong writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel)
