Overview

The Plant & Equipment Inspector ensures that all construction machinery, tools, and equipment used on-site comply with safety standards, operational requirements, and project specifications. This role is critical for minimizing downtime, preventing accidents, and maintaining productivity on infrastructure projects.

Your role

Inspection & Compliance

  • Conduct routine and scheduled inspections of heavy equipment, cranes, earthmoving machinery, and other plant assets.
  • Verify compliance with manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and safety regulations (OSHA or local standards).
  • Check calibration and certification of lifting equipment and pressure vessels.

Maintenance Oversight

  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing.
  • Identify wear, damage, or malfunction and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure spare parts and consumables meet approved standards.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed inspection logs, checklists, and compliance reports.
  • Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports for project management and safety teams.

Coordination

  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, maintenance teams, and contractors.
  • Assist in equipment mobilization and demobilization checks.
  • Support safety audits and risk assessments related to plant operations.

About you

Education

  • Degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in plant/equipment inspection within infrastructure or heavy civil projects in Riyadh, KSA.

Certifications

  • Knowledge of ISO standards, OSHA safety compliance, and equipment certification.
  • Preferably certified in lifting equipment inspection or equivalent.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of construction machinery and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and interpret equipment specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inspection software.

Other

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging site conditions and travel as required.
