This is skilled journeyman level work in the inspection, repair and maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, treatment and pumping systems and related instrumentation. Work involves preventative and corrective maintenance to mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, aerators, compressors, gearboxes and blowers, electrical devices such as switchgears, breakers, AC control systems, transformers, wiring, invertors, variable speed controllers and instrument system devices such as controllers, meters, gages, and AC and DC control logics; and includes iron and metal work, fabrication, welding and blueprint reading. Work includes planning, scheduling, and implementation of an equipment preventive maintenance program; initiating work orders in a computerized maintenance system; inspecting contracted work to ensure quality of installation or repair; and training and providing lead supervision when assigned apprentice personnel. Because of the critical responsibilities of this position, an employee in this class can be scheduled “on call” and required to report to work at the discretion of management.
Salary: $26.81 - $37.40 Hourly
