Position Overview
A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations in Macon, GA. This is a direct hire, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability and leadership impact.
This role is responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Drive improvements in capacity, equipment utilization, and operational flexibility while controlling costs
- Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify gaps, reduce waste, and improve overall performance
- Lead, coach, and develop plant personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; champion a proactive safety culture
- Develop and manage KPIs, systems, and processes to monitor productivity and operational effectiveness
- Establish and enforce plant policies and procedures aligned with organizational objectives
- Ensure production schedules are executed on time and meet customer expectations
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance output quality
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging manufacturing technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations
- Proven ability to lead teams in a production or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of business operations including budgeting, planning, and resource allocation
- Experience with manufacturing systems, equipment, and production processes
- Solid knowledge of safety, quality systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency with computers and manufacturing/ERP systems
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills with a hands-on management style

Work Environment

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
