Plant Manager Job Description

Tires To Green Recycling is currently seeking an experienced Plant Manager. This job will coordinate and direct subordinate Heavy Equipment Mechanics, semi-skilled workers, and Trade Helps responsible for the operation, coordination and quality control of the manufacturing facility. This employee will diagnoses difficult repair problems and provides training in skills such as hydraulics, diesel engines, welding and fabrication of parts and tools. This job will work closely with our General Manager in overseeing shop and field mechanics, while providing support for parts, facility organization, leadership, etc. Seeking a team player with a positive attitude and disposition. Responsibilities:

- Assist and guide technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot and complete repairs efficiently in a timely manner. Ability to look up and order required parts for repairs utilizing online systems or over the phone.

- Ability to monitor and evaluate problems and performance in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.

- Purchases and/or requisitions equipment and support of tools, parts, materials, and supplies used in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.

- Scheduling for technicians and support, occasionally work with outside vendors on repairs.

- Prepares cost and material estimates.

- Ensure proper right-to-know and other OSHA regulations are followed for the safety of all employees. As well as promote and maintain safety awareness in the shop and yard.

- Assist in creating and streamlining processes.

- Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.

- Performing any task assigned to subordinate staff and performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

Preferred previous shop foreman experience. Preferred minimum 5 years’ knowledge, experience, and ability working on diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, as well as machine systems. Engineering experience desired. LEAN experience a plus.

Working Conditions:

- Standard shift hours are 6 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday with weekend work as needed.

- Field work as occasionally needed in all possible weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

  • Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Electrical: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Required)

Willingness to travel:
