The Plant Manager oversees all manufacturing activities within our Minneapolis, MN location. This role leads cross-functional teams with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Inventory (SQDIP). Reporting to the North American Director of Operations, the Plant Manager plays a critical role in aligning operational performance with the broader commercial strategy by fostering strong collaboration with Sales, Supply Chain and Finance. Success in this position is measured by the ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable results in cash flow and EBIDTA.


Responsibilities:
  • Owns the Plant Bowler metrics in collaboration with cross-functional departments including HR, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance ensuring alignment with plant-wide performance goals.
  • Leads SQDIP initiatives, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery (customer request date), Inventory, and Productivity to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Conducts daily Gemba walks and SQDIP meetings, engaging teams at all levels to identify issues, remove roadblocks and foster a culture of accountability and problem-solving.
  • Deploys and implements a safety program, cascading responsibilities to departmental levels and cultivating production floor safety instructors to sustain a proactive safety culture.
  • Drive operational excellence using Lean methodologies (4M principle, Continuous, MTO, Kanban), ensuring efficient use of man, machine, and material.
  • Identifies and executes cost reduction projects focused on eliminating process waste, improving output, enhancing product quality, reducing lead times, and increasing overall productivity.
  • Responds to market and customer dynamics by adjusting operational strategies, controlling labor and overhead costs, and maintaining an agile and cost-effective production environment.
  • Mentors and coaches’ teams and individuals, identifying strengths and development opportunities. Works closely with HR to cultivate talent, build high-performing teams and support succession planning.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • 10 or more years of experience in manufacturing operations in a leadership role.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing ideally in an international company.
  • Proven track record in Lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills that promote accountability as well as development all while striving towards achievement of bowler and plant metrics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, ERP software (ex: Microsoft BC, SAP Oracle) preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $130,000-$150,000 annually, exempt
