LionShare Foods is a fast-growing, USDA-inspected food manufacturing company in Houston. We specialize in high-volume food production and are expanding operations.

We are hiring a Plant Manager in Training to oversee daily production operations and grow into a larger leadership role as the company expands. This position offers long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to eventually lead a shift (day/evening/night) at our new facility located in Houston, TX 77075.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager in Training will oversee production operations, manage production floor employees, ensure USDA and HACCP compliance, track KPIs, and work closely with company leadership to meet production goals.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable working on the production floor and leading teams directly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food production to meet volume, efficiency, and quality targets
• Supervise and manage production floor employees
• Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Complete and review HACCP logs and food safety documentation
• Communicate directly with the on-site USDA inspector
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and internal food safety standards
• Track and report KPIs (labor efficiency, yields, downtime, production output)
• Coordinate production scheduling to meet demand
• Support transition from paper-based systems to an online ERP system
• Lead operational improvements and company initiatives
• Maintain SQF audit-ready production floor standards

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing (Required)
• Prior managerial or supervisory experience (Required)
• Bilingual – Fluent in English & Spanish (Required)
• Strong computer skills (experience transitioning to digital/ERP systems preferred)
• Experience working in a USDA-inspected facility (Preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours if production demands increase

Compensation & Benefits

• $65,000–$75,000 per year (based on experience)
