Plant Operator - OQ – Energy & Industrial Group

A large integrated energy & industrial company formerly known as the Oman Oil Company. It operates in oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, mining, and infrastructure across multiple countries.

As a Plant Operator / Field Operator at OQ, you play a hands-on operational role in oil, gas, refinery, or petrochemical facilities. Your duties help ensure efficient, safe, and smooth plant operations every day.

Typical Responsibilities:

Monitor and control machinery, pipelines, and production equipment.

Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks.

Identify and troubleshoot operational problems as they arise.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards rigorously.

Record operational data (logs, readings, incidents) accurately.

Communicate and coordinate with engineers, control room staff, and team leads.

Typical Settings:

Oil, gas, refinery or petrochemical sites such as Suhar Refinery or Block 60 facilities.

The role usually reports to a Shift Team Lead or Operations Supervisor.

Typical Qualifications:

Technical diploma or vocational training (mechanical, electrical, process).

Practical knowledge of industrial equipment (pumps, valves, compressors).

Good grasp of safety protocols and procedures.

Ability to work shift rotations, including nights and weekends.

Pay: From RO2,000.000 per month
