Overall responsibilities and duties:
The Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. They will lead continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provide data analysis.
The main missions of the role are:
o Conduct multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from feasibility phase to post launch quality assessment and throughout production life; reduces PPM, Scrap, and overall Cost of Quality KPI’s
o Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with Engineering in conjunction with advanced quality-planning activities and monitor the status throughout production life.
o Develop, implement, and maintain Statistical Process Control techniques.
o Assure compliance of the documented quality system (ISO/TS16949 or IATF16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization.
o Conduct investigations to determine causes of defects, make recommendations for corrective action.
o Maintain customer complaint log and facilitate and participate in the corrective action process.
o Instruct and train personnel in techniques including Seven Quality Basics and use of audit and testing devices.
o Monitor and revise quality documentation as required.
o Visit customers and suppliers when necessary.
o Act as a liaison to internal and external customers
o Review all production methods for compliance to quality standards and for improvement of product and quality standards.
o Perform all responsibilities with ISO/TS16949 or IATF16949 system requirements.
o Validate gage studies with Mini Tab, leads DOE activities to replicate process/product failures; drives 5-Y and QRCI processes, process capability improvements and GAP specific analysis of variable data.
o All other tasks assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience:
o Minimum of two (2) years automotive experience
o Exposure to Customer Interactions
o Industrial/Manufacturing Experience preferred.
Skills and competencies:
o Strong analytical and proven team-oriented problem solving-skills required.
o Strong customer satisfaction orientation
o In-depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques
o In-depth knowledge of Metrology, GD&T, PPAP/APQP, PFMEA, DOE, Capability & Gage Studies
o Alignment to Leadership Competencies: Customer Focus, Drive Results and Instills Trust
o Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills
o Teamwork, Agility, Accountability
o Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
o Bilingual preferred (English required)
